day 3, on the boardwalk...

It was raining this morning. Tropical storm Colin visited last night while we slept. Grant got up early for yoga but the rain kept him off the beach, bummer. He was looking forward to beach yoga. By the time he got home and we got up and ready the rain was long gone and the sun was out!

The town of Duck has a boardwalk that runs 3/4 of a mile, has shops and beautiful views. We wanted to get some local donuts and visit a few shops. After much web-surfing we picked Donutz on a Stick as our donuts to try. We also wanted to check out a little coffee shop/bookstore.

These shops were super cute. Not anything I would want to buy but lots of fun to walk around.

The donuts were OK. They were made to order and very sweet. I wouldn't go back but we can say we ate donuts off a stick.

We enjoyed the views the most!

You would never know that a storm had just passed through! One of my favorite things that happened today was Molly telling us how much she enjoyed going out everyday to do things and explore rather than just sit at the pool all day.

After the Boardwalk, shopping and sugar rush we wanted to get some sun and enjoy the blue sky! We all though chilling poolside for a while was the best way to spend the afternoon.

No one seems to like my hat.........

We played in the water and laid poolside reading for a while then everyone was getting hungry. Donuts for lunch probably wasn't the best idea! So after cleaning up we headed north to Corolla Cantina for dinner.

Veggie Quesadilla and Island Rice Bowl

My Quesadilla was awesome with spinach and black beans. Grants rice bowl was OK. Poor Grant keeps missing the mark on the food this week! We are going to have to find him something good before the weeks up. I know just the place for that! But he is going to have to wait a few days!! The best thing about the Corolla Cantina was our server. She was so excited to meet fellow vegetarians. We talked about what we did and did not eat and why. I think we are going to see if she wants to hang out later this week. :)

After dinner I wanted to go for a walk. There is a nature preserve just north of the restaurant called the Currituck Banks Reserve. AND once again this place is gorgeous!!

After a short walk on another Boardwalk with breathtaking views we found ourselves on a little pier overlooking the sound.

I think I could have taken a million photos out there.

Once we got out there we notice there were some men crabbing (crab fishing) and Neve was way more into that than the beauty of the place!

The guys were so nice and let Neve crab with them. She didn't catch anything but she thought she did 20times.

My favorite part had to be the sunset. I probably took 200 photos.  As Grant said "It keeps changing and getting better!" Here are a ton of my favorite photos of the sunset. I made them thumbnails so that if you wanted to see one in detail just click on it and soak up the beauty!

As you can tell, I could not get enough of the sunset!

Neve was running to catch up to Molly and Grant.

And that was it for our day on the boardwalks. We went back to the house to watch movies and hangout together.

Tomorrow will probably be our big all day beach day!
